31 for 21, Day 19: Blog hop.

Instead of wordless wednesday I wanted to write about this awesome movement called Blog Hop for Down Syndrome awareness. I'm a bit late because I often don't have time to visit my favorite blogs. But thanks to checking out The Bates Motel, one of the hosts, I've been able to join.

You can join also until Oct 21st.  That's when the fun really begins.  For 24 hours on the 21st, hop around the participating blogs and leave comments to spread the word of awareness for Down Syndrome.  What a great idea!  Here are the rules written by Erin at Crazy Beautiful Love (one of the hosts).

I hope you will join.

31 for 21: Day 4, New blog.

I wanted to share a blog that a friend of mine has just created.  Janet is a mom and advocate for her daughter Lily.  She's an educator and has also been president for the Down Syndrome Network, here in Arizona.

At present Janet is working on her doctorate in Teacher Leadership.  Her study is focused on understanding the challenges teachers with students with Down syndrome encounter so that more effective training can be developed.  Because of her background in education she has started this blog with that in mind.

In many ways this blog is personal but it also touches on various teaching techniques concerning our children with Down syndrome.  She plans to post a couple of times a week.
